Radio Black - Booking

Radio Black

Lead singer/guitarist TJ Courtney fused his previous solo project into RadioBlack, maintaining a melodic mixture of grunge and 90’s inspired alternative rock. Bringing in drummer Derek Gledhill, founding member of Smile Empty Soul, and bassist Hayato Takano, a seasoned touring player, the ensemble makes a powerhouse trio. Prior to the formation of RadioBlack, Courtney recorded tracks at Studio 606, the Foo Fighters’ private recording facility, using the famed Sound City Neve 8028 analog mixing console previously graced by the likes of Nirvana, Rage Against The Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Paul McCartney. With a clear vision for the project producer John “Lou” Lousteau arranged collaborations with Taylor Hawkins (Foo Fighters), Rudy Sarzo (Ozzy), Chris Chaney (Jane’s Addiction), and Mick Murphy (My Ruin, Chevy Metal). The production team was rounded out by Fireball Ministry front-man and Fireball Ministry front-man and “Sound City” documentary producer Jim Rota, and Brad Smith of Blind Melon. These recordings will be featured on Radio Black’s debut Album, slated for release in April. The remainder of the album was recorded with producer/mixer Jason “Space” Smith (Memento, Digital Daggers) with sessions that featured the new line-up at Wishbone Studios, Ocean Way, and The Village Recorder. Having already shared the stage with Puddle of Mudd, Trapt, and Vast, RadioBlack will continue to tour in support of their debut album release slated for April 2018. “Between Courtney’s gruff vocals and Hawkins’ steady drumming, (Run Away) has an emotional intensity akin to the Foo’s own ‘Times Like These.'” – Consequence of Sound “RadioBlack’s TJ Courtney is living proof that taking risks pays off” – PureVolume
